About

It began with a simple question asked by Angela Hernandez, then President of PRSSA at Central Michigan University (CMU).  “Is PR Right for me?” A follow up blog post by PR 2.0 expert Deirdre Breakenridge, CEO of Pure Performance Communications, inspired a series of direct messages on Twitter between Breakenridge and fellow PR industry pro, Valerie Simon. This was an important question and one that should be explored beyond one student or one blog post. Why not build a community to help students across the country, and even the globe, learn from the experience and perspective of industry professionals… A community where everyone could learn and grow together?

PRStudChat has evolved into a dynamic community of public relations professionals, educators and students who share a common goal; to leverage social media in a meaningful way that will help bridge the gap between the academic and professional environments. PRStudChat creates opportunities to learn and network in an effort to work with educators in attracting and develop future PR leaders, while offering those who practice public relations a place to further their professional development.

Since the first Twitter chat in August of 2009, monthly discussions have attracted special guests such including Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, Former Kodak CMO Jeffrey Hayzlett, PR 2.0 leader Brian Solis. The #PRStudChat Linkedin group connects community members beyond Twitter and on October 27th, 2010, prstudchat.com was launched to provide the community with additional resources beyond 140 characters.

The PRStudChat community is open to all who share an interest in the field of PR. Dates for upcoming Twitter chats can be found here. The PRStudChat Guide to Twitter Chats is available for first time participants.

We welcome guest posts from the community and encourage you t0 submit a contribution

I am working for an job recruitment related site and regularly make guest posting for my site. I would like to contribute a guest post I have prepared for my site. My site is also in same niche and would be quite relevant and informative to your visitors. I would appreciate a link back from the content to my site.

Kindly think over the proposal and let me know.
If you have any questions regarding this please feel free to contact.

    Waiting for your sincere response
